On April 2nd, the event “Kickoff Medtech: Chilean Vanguard Medicine meets Innovative Swiss Medical Technology” was held.
The event was organized by the Embassy of Switzerland in Chile and the Chilean-Swiss Chamber of Commerce . Medic Solutions for its part, supported during preparation and management and its CEO, Beat Struby, was chosen as moderator of the event.
Among the guests were C-level managers of major clinics, companies who provide medical technology, pharmaceutical companies, representatives of the Ministry of Health (Digital Hospital) and the academy.
The initial words were given by the Ambassador of Switzerland in Chile, Mr. Arno Wicki, with a brief summary on Switzerland and the close bilateral relations between both countries. This was complemented by Mr. Thomas Först, Head Global Network of Switzerland Global Enterprise, who shared the latest advances in Swiss medical technology and projects aimed at bringing it closer to the Latin American market.
During the second part of the event, a panel of experts was organized with the following speakers:
- Dr. Enrique Paris, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences of the Universidad Mayor and Former National President of the Colegio Médico de Chile. (Panel Moderator)
- Dr. Andrea Neumann, Head of Department Digital Hospital of the Ministry of Health.
- Dr. Rodrigo Muñoz, Director of the Center for Obesity Treatment of the Red de Salud UC Christus.
- Mr. Christian Hänel, President of APIS and CEO of Tecnigen.
The panel gave rise to interesting conversations about the importance of investing in cutting-edge medical technology, international competitiveness of Chilean health and the high level of human capital of the industry’s professionals.
To close the event, the Ambassador of Switzerland invited the participants to future activities related to Health and to maintain an active and fruitful collaborative relationship between both countries.
